The Defender Back Pressure Valve

The groundbreaking Defender BPV was designed to overcome the limitations of existing technologies used in oil and gas drilling and workover operations. The Defender was developed by Drilling Innovative Solutions, LLC to offer operators optimal flow rate, needed for proper wellbore cleanout in long curve and lateral hole sections.

The Defender is manufactured to withstand the most extreme downhole drilling conditions. All BPVs are manufactured to the highest API and ISO 9000 standards ensuring the highest quality tools. The Defender is available in a broad range of valve sizes, to accommodate most drilling operations.

USES

• Can be used for Normal and/or Directional Drilling Operations including HTHP conditions.
• Can be used for Underbalanced Drilling Operations.
• Can be used for Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Operations.
• Can be used in long lateral wells where extensive circulating time is encountered.

• Valve is designed to allow for reduced circulating times, leading to improved wellbore cleaning.
• Valve is designed utilizing an elastomeric-to-metal seal. Sealing surface is always protected from erosion via a flow tube, allowing consistent sealing after prolonged use
• Valve is designed to be used with standard double shoulder rotary connections, maintaining drill string strength and integrity while offering the maximum flow through area.
• Valve is recommended to be placed as close to the drill bit as possible to help prevent plugging of the bit due to solids, but can be placed further up the drill string.

FEATURES

• Valves are designed to 10,000 psi and 400 degrees F, allowing for a broad range of service conditions including HTHP.
• Valves are available in common connection sizes and internal diameters.
